The newly rebranded Jamaica Trade Board launched EXPORTJamaica on March 6, as it positions itself as a robust trade facilitator embracing the digital age.
EXPORTJamaica, an entity under the Ministry of Investment and Commerce, is a global market intelligence and compliance platform that enables the identification of suitable markets and business opportunities worldwide.
Through EXPORTJamaica, the Jamaica Trade Board (formerly Trade Board Limited) is actualising its mission of providing relevant and current trade-related information.
Offering global market insights and compliance guidance, this platform is poised to greatly benefit prospective and established exporters, particularly micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) that sometimes face challenges in accessing specialised market insights, compliance data, and support resources due to cost constraints.
Speaking at the launch event, Minister Senator Aubyn Hill said “EXPORTJamaica will enable local MSMEs to identify and take advantage of business opportunities overseas that will contribute significantly to the growth of the Jamaican economy. This platform will amplify the knowledge and discovery of the best countries for Jamaican businesses to trade with by leveraging accurate and up-to-date market insights.”
Hill encouraged MSMEs to “Make a strategic investment in your business and focus on the production of high-quality products that possess the inherent appeal to captivate international markets.

Dr Hugh Blake, trade administrator and Jamaica Trade Board CEO, further described EXPORTJamaica as “a digital tool that provides users with an opportunity to access current information on market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behaviour, enabling businesses to make stronger and more informed decisions”.
“I have immense pride and enthusiasm as we witness the dawn of a new era in Jamaican trade – the launch of EXPORTJamaica. This cutting-edge online platform is not just a new initiative, but a powerful instrument designed to empower Jamaican businesses”, said Blake.
The benefits of EXPORTJamaica are vast, inclusive of providing compliance requirements for various countries and access to tools such as selling price calculators and currency converters. Notably, EXPORTJamaica also provides access to a suite of supporting resources which includes a customs duties calculator which calculates duties accurately, landed cost calculator which provides the total cost of exporting and much more.
Manager of Systems Engineering & Programming at the Jamaica Trade Board, Jason Mills, said, “EXPORTJamaica will simplify and enhance the experience of businesses seeking to discover global markets to export their goods”.
