Art lovers will converge in Miami and Miami Beach in December for Miami Art, Culture and Heritage Month.

The highlight of the month is Miami Art Week 2023 which during the period of December 5 to 10 is hosting over 20 international art fairs featuring thousands of artists at venues across Greater Miami & Miami Beach.

Among the artists whose work will appear at Miami Art Week events are Jamaican Gavin Jordan, who will be at Spectrum Miami Art Fair, at Mana Wynwood in Miami’s Wynwood Art District, and Leasho Johnson who will show his works at Untitled Art Fair in Miami Beach. Both events are run from December 6 – 10.

In an interview for USA Art News, Jordan, a sculptural artist, revealed he will showcase his latest series “Hoping for Today’s Tomorrow,” a collection that delves into the struggles and aspiration of people of color seeking a better life, emphasizing the urgency for a brighter future in the present moment. His artwork often centered around the human figure, employs an innovative technique with industrial screws, creating a captivating three-dimensional effect. The use of vivid colors sparks raw sensations, while the interplay of light and dark, achieved through varying screw depths, accentuates contrasts within the pieces. His unique style blends modern impressionism, pointillism, and perceptual art—a fusion of technical skills from his corporate life and innate creative talent.

Concerts, art installations, parties, street art and much more can be enjoyed during this art-filled week. Miami Art Week draws crowds of art connoisseurs and newcomers from across the globe in celebration of artistic expression. The streets of neighborhoods like Wynwood, Downtown Miami and Miami Beach are transformed into an art canvas of innovative creativity.

At the heart of the annual celebration is the international art fair Art Basel Miami Beach, held at the Miami Beach Convention Center from December 6 to 10. Art Basel is where art connoisseurs can explore art pieces ranging from immersive installations to historic masterpieces. This is an art extravaganza like no other where global top-tier galleries highlight modern artwork crafted by seasoned artists and rising creatives. Art Basel Miami Beach is intentionally divided into distinct sectors, ranging from one exhibiting large-scale artwork to another featuring a creative playground with young artists and avant-garde galleries.
