Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce’s blistering 10.63s run at the Olympic Destiny meet in Kingston today (June 5), has sent shockwaves around the world and likely made the women’s 100m at the Tokyo Olympics the most hotly anticipated event for the upcoming Games.
With her national record run making her the second fastest woman of all time, behind only the late Florence Griffith Joyner’s seemingly unachievable 10.49 seconds set all the way back in 1988, Jamaicans across Twitter have also reignited questions around the legitimacy of FloJo’s time.
But with or without accepting the American’s 33-year-old world record, the fact remains that Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is now the Fastest Woman Alive!
