Celebrated facilitator and leadership development professional Sandra Cooper has been awarded the Certified Professional Facilitator— Emeritus (CPF Emeritus) designation by the International Association of Facilitators (IAF).
This prestigious global lifetime honour recognises outstanding facilitators who have made significant, long-term contributions to the profession and to the wider world through the art and science of group process facilitation.
Sandra, who began her facilitation journey more than twenty years ago, has spent decades designing and guiding transformative workshops across Jamaica and the Caribbean. Her work has empowered leaders, organisations, and communities to navigate complexity, foster collaboration, and create lasting change.
According to the CPF Emeritus Assessors, “Sandra brings passion, presence, and deep professional mastery to her work. She integrates diverse philosophies, shares her wisdom generously, and demonstrates a remarkable capacity to hold space with authenticity, care, and insight.”
Reflecting on the recognition, Cooper shared: “This designation is deeply meaningful to me. Facilitation is not just about running retreats—it is sacred work, rooted in trust and the courage to guide others into deeper awareness and connection. It’s about helping people find their voice and create transformation together. To have spent most of my professional life doing this work, and to now be acknowledged by my global peers, is both humbling and heartening.”
Sandra’s client portfolio includes notable organisations such as the GraceKennedy Group, National Commercial Bank, Mona School of Business and Management, the Society for the Blind, MBJ Airports, among others.
The CPF Emeritus designation is awarded to facilitators who have previously earned the Certified Professional Facilitator (CPF) credential and who demonstrate an enduring commitment to the values of inclusion, participation, and excellence in facilitation.
The honour reflects not just career accomplishment, but also the wisdom, presence, and mentorship legacy of senior practitioners in the field. Sandra is a founding director of the IAF Jamaica Chapter (IAFJ) along with CPF Masters Gillian Chambers and Ulla Wyckoff Tomlinson. She has also served as co-chair for two regional conferences held in Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago. She is widely respected for her ability to blend intellect, empathy, and spiritual insight in ways that energise purpose-driven action.
In extending congratulations, Diane Edwards, Director of the Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM) Professional Services Unit, commented:
“Sandra Cooper has distinguished herself as an exceptional facilitator within the MSBM’s Professional Services Unit, where she brings clarity, insight, and heart to every engagement. She fosters group processes that build trust, encourage collaboration, and guide teams to embrace change with confidence and achieve meaningful, lasting results. We are proud to continue our close collaboration with her.”
Now stepping into a new chapter of her life and career as an author, Sandra is set to release her first book later this year: Flying Without Wings: How to Live as a Spiritual Superhero in a Human Bodysuit.
She also plans to continue mentoring emerging facilitators and documenting the principles that have shaped her journey.
