Reggae Boy Jahshaun Anglin appeared in a US in-bond court on Wednesday (September 29) charged with sexual battery.

The 20-year-old former Harbour View midfielder plays for Miami FC in the USL Championship, a Division II league in the United States.

The player is accused of forcing himself on a woman in an apartment. He is alleged to have met the woman at the apartment. He requested sex after removing his pants and underwear in front of the woman.

Police said the victim refused, but that Anglin pinned her to the ground and continued, only to stop when someone walked in the room and found the victim crying.

The police subsequently arrested Anglin.

Reports said the victim said she had never met Anglin before the incident. She was able to identify him to police as her attacker.

Bond was set at US$10,000.

Anglin signed with Miami FC in January 2021 after making 21 appearances for Jamaica Premier League (JPL) franchise Harbour View FC.

His performances earned him a call up to the Jamaican Senior National Team, making his debut with the Reggae Boyz in March 2020 at the age of 18. Anglin was also a part of Jamaica’s more recent friendlies against Saudi Arabia in November 2020.

To date, he has played 15 matches for Miami FC.
