Jamaican passport improves global ranking

The latest report from the Henley Passport Index has revealed that the Jamaican passport strengthened its ranking to become the 60th most powerful in the world.

According to the 2024 index, individuals who have a Jamaican passport can travel to 90 countries visa-free.

Last year, Jamaica placed 63rd in the world. At the time, individuals with a Jamaican passport could only travel to 87 countries without a visa.

Barbados has the strongest passport in the Caribbean, allowing its citizens to travel to 165 countries visa-free. It ranks as the 22nd most powerful passport in the world.

The Bahamas ranks as the second-most powerful passport in the Caribbean for 2024. It is followed by St Kitts and Nevis and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Jamaica maintains its position as the 11th strongest passport in the Caribbean, despite its jump in the world ranking.

Other Caribbean countries that have a higher ranking than Jamaica include Antigua and Barbuda, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, St Lucia, Dominica, and Guyana.
