Jamaicans Calibe Thompson, president of Island SPACE Caribbean Museum, and Suzan McDowell, Circle of One Marketing founder, are among those who will be honoured at the seventh edition of the Le P’ti Club Prestigious Women of Excellence award.
Le P’ti is an arts and cultural non-profit organisation serving cultural art communities from Haiti and the Caribbean through television, radio and live event broadcasts focused in Miami. It was founded by Jimmy Moise in 2003 and is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
“I’m honoured that his organisation has chosen to recognise the work we do in this way during Women’s History Month. And I’m delighted to be in the company of such outstanding Caribbean women,” Thompson told the South Florida Caribbean News.

McDowell shared the same sentiment, adding: “I am proud to represent Jamaica, the home of my birth and family heritage, at the Le P’ti Club 7th Prestigious Women of Excellence Award in 2023, especially in the company of so many powerful Caribbean women.
Haitian singer Emeline Michel will also be the recipient of the Prestigious Women of Excellence Awards 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award.
The ceremony will see 13 female leaders from various backgrounds in the art, media and political realm being honoured for their achievements.
The event will also feature a fashion show, musical entertainment and an open dance floor.
