In the wake of Juici Patties’ expansion into Florida, Jahmel Douglas and Khadeja Davis have made history as the first franchisees of the Jamaican patty brand.
Their partnership marks the beginning of a broader initiative by Juici Patties to establish 40 new locations across Florida by next summer. The business partners plan to establish four more Juici Patties restaurants.
Both seasoned entrepreneurs, the pair have a wealth of relevant experience to operate in the market. Davis is a restauranteur of Jamaican descent and has previously operated a Jamaican cuisine restaurant. Douglas, who is also a Jamaican living abroad, owns an accounting and insurance firm.
Speaking with Our Today, Douglas explained that as a lifelong lover of Juici Patties, he has been excited and was fully on board with becoming a franchisee from day one.
“It’s not just a venture of the heart, we’re very familiar with the market and know that patties are a must-have in Florida,” said Douglas.

Douglas lauded the support from Juici Patties, describing it as “very thorough” with a “step-by-step checklist”.
Juici Patties provides comprehensive support to franchisees, offering guidance on location selection, restaurant design, team training, and ongoing operational assistance through a dedicated app.
Juici Patties Director Daniel Chin has previously expressed that franchisee candidates are considered meticulously and required to display “a great attitude”, along with a minimum of US$125,000 in liquid capital.
The franchise’s first location opened in Hollywood by Rhea Wright has been previously reported as a success, generating US$15,000 in daily revenue.
