Jamaica’s famous Geejam recording studio reopens

Jamaica’s leading residential recording facility, Geejam Studios, has reopened following a brief closure to undertake a multi-million-dollar renovation.

The Geejam Studios has now completed its major renovation to mark 25 years as a top recording studio on the island, hosting the likes of Babyface, Alicia Keys, Estelle, Amy Winehouse, Grace Jones, Drake and locals such as Sean Paul, Beenie Man, The Jolly Boys and Chronixx.

The revamped studio has new, state-of-the-art equipment and tech with a 900-square-foot space featuring floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing Port Antonio’s natural beauty. This, is in addition to a rooftop bar and lounge for respites between recordings. 

Latest renovation

This latest renovation will cement Geejam Studios as the leading residential recording facility in the Caribbean and North East America. Geejam recording sessions are kept strictly confidential and private.

Located in the picturesque parish of Portland, the property features three private villas, 12 spacious guest rooms, three deluxe cabins, a junior suite, a gym, spa, private beach and a Jamaican fusion restaurant and bar called the Bushbar with infinity pool and treetop DJ booth.

Geejam, which was recently named one of the Caribbean’s top hotels for music history, offers three well equipped recording facilities: Geejam Studios, Geejam Studios at Cocosan and Panorama Villas. The facility can accommodate varying types of sessions – from writers’ camps to album recording projects

Having played an important role within the music and film industry for over two decades, Geejam Studios offers customisable workspaces, all housed on one property alongside six ancillary writing room setups that can be set up in stunning inspirational locations.

Geejam is unique in its versatility with a continuous roster of new, established and well-known recording artists acts as a collective exchange of some of music’s best talent.
