Jamaica’s squash player Julian Morrison was suspended Wednesday for two years by the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel for the banned substance Boldenone.

But according to Morrison’s lawyer, Dr Emir Crowne, the two-time national champion, is happy he did not get the four-year ban sought by the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO).

“He is relieved it isn’t four years and feels vindicated that the panel didn’t consider him a cheat. But he’s, nonetheless, frustrated with the process and delays,” Dr Crowne told Our Today.

Morrison was provisionally suspended in 2024 after he tested positive on January 18 of that year for boldenone during an out-of-competition test. His two-year ban will end on February 21, 2026.

Dr Crowne argued that boldenone entered Morrison’s body via contaminated meat.

But the panel decided that Morrison didn’t intentionally take boldenone, and because he couldn’t prove how it entered his system, he was given a two-year suspension, instead of four.

“Meat contamination cases are notoriously difficult to prove,” said Dr Crowne in a post on X.
