Jamaica is projecting record tourism earnings of US$4.6 billion for 2025, representing a 7.1 per cent increase over the previous year, according to Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett.
Delivering a statement to Parliament, the Minister said total visitor arrivals are expected to reach 4.3 million this year, up 2.7 per cent compared to 2024, while the upcoming Winter 2025/26 season will see stopover arrivals increase by 6.9 per cent and cruise arrivals by 24.3 per cent.
Bartlett said the country’s performance mirrors a robust global recovery in tourism, with international travel surpassing pre-pandemic levels.
“Tourism has once again proven to be the engine driving Jamaica’s economic momentum, generating jobs, attracting investment, and transforming communities across the island,” he said.
The minister noted that Jamaica remains firmly on course to achieve the industry’s “5x5x5 Vision” of five million visitors and US$5 billion in earnings within five years while advancing toward the new “5x8x10” Strategy, targeting eight million visitors and US$10 billion in earnings by 2030.
He credited Jamaica’s strong marketing strategy, airlift expansion, and partnerships in key source markets for the sector’s continued growth.
