The Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) has elected Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Edmund ‘Ed’ Bartlett, to chair its new supply-side committee.

This committee has been developed as the regional tourism body advances a unified regional approach to how the Caribbean retains tourism earnings and strengthens its value chains. With member states working collectively, the committee is deepening linkages with agriculture, manufacturing and the creative industries, ensuring that more of what the sector consumes is produced right here in the region.

CTO says this coordinated effort is already shaping policy direction, informing investment priorities, and guiding sustainable growth through data on carrying capacity and regional supply networks. Together, Caribbean partners are building a stronger, more resilient tourism economy, one that keeps more opportunities, more jobs and more value within our islands.

The committee will be focused on strengthening regional linkages, reducing tourism leakages, boosting local supply chains, guiding sustainable growth and enhancing regional competitiveness. Through this committee, CTO is shaping the future of Caribbean tourism.
