Jamaica’s Under-17 Reggae Girlz will be looking to rebound in their CONCACAF World Cup qualifier when they face Costa Rica in a must-win game today at Costa Rica Federation Field #1 in Alajuela, at 1:36 pm Jamaican time.

Jamaica are coming off a humiliating 0-9 defeat to Mexico on Tuesday and sit at the bottom of Group C without a point after one game. Costa Rica are in second spot on three points, the same as leaders Mexico. Panama are third also without a point after losing 1-3 to Costa Rica.

Twelve teams are vying for four spots to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026 in October. The three group winners and the best second-placed team will qualify.

Jamaica cannot afford to lose this game against Costa Rica and face a tough challenge against a Costa Rican team that will be very hard to break down.

Both teams last met at this stage in the 2016 Qualifiers, with Costa Rica winning 3-2. While Jamaica was being destroyed by Mexico 9-0, Costa Rica were defeating Panama 3-1.

It’s now or never for the Under-17 Reggae Girlz as they must beat Costa Rica to keep their fading dreams alive of reaching the FIFA World Cup.
