NBA star James Harden was taken into custody early Saturday morning after a traffic stop led officers to discover a handgun inside his vehicle.

Police say the 3:41 a.m. stop resulted in officers noticing the weapon on the seat of the car, not secured in a holster. Harden was later charged with misdemeanor unlawful carrying of a weapon and released after posting a $100 bond. He is expected to appear in court later this month.

Images from the booking process showed Harden with a blank expression during the mug shot.

The Cleveland Cavaliers confirmed they are aware of the situation and say they are gathering further details.

Harden, who averaged 20.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 7.7 assists this past season, spent part of the year with Cleveland after being traded from the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Cavaliers’ season ended in the Eastern Conference Finals, where they fell to the eventual champions, the New York Knicks.
