Some three months after suffering from an unnamed medical complication, American actor Jamie Foxx took to social media on Saturday, July 22, to express gratitude to his fans while providing an update on his recovery process.

In an Instagram video, Foxx said: “I went through something that I never thought I would never ever go through. There were a lot of people waiting for updates, but to be honest with you, I never wanted you to see me like that. I wanted you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”

The Ray actor experienced a medical complication in April while working on a project in Atlanta, Georgia, which saw him being hospitalised for a prolonged period.

To date, Foxx’s medical condition has not been revealed publicly, but attributed his recovery to his family and medical team.

“My sister Deidra Dixon, my daughter Corinne, Marie save my life, so to them to God, to a lot of great medical people. I am able to leave you this video. I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kicking in such a way and you’ll know they kept it air tight they didn’t let anything out, they protected me and that’s what I that everyone could have in moments like these,” he said.

“I went to hell and back and my road to recovery had some potholes as well but I am coming back. I am able to work, so I want to thank the people that let me work. I just want to say I love everybody, I love all the love I got,” an emotional Foxx said.

The actor also sought to dismiss claims circulating in the media that he has been cloned through artificial intelligence.

Foxx is known for appearing in films such as Ray, Project Power, Day Shift and Django Unchained.
