Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) and the International Trade Centre (ITC) have embarked on a partnership to promote Jamaica’s Global Digital Services (GDS) companies in the United Kingdom.

Five global digital services outfits will benefit from this partnership and will participate in a market exploration mission to the UK from February 2 to 8, 2025. They are Adtelligent, ADVANTUM, Innovate 10X, itel, and Shift Left Ltd.

The mission forms part of ITC’s United Kingdom Trade Partnerships (UKTP) Programme, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom. The UKTP programme aims to increase exports from African, Caribbean, and Pacific (ACP) countries to the UK and EU by maximising the benefits of the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) and the Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS).

Commenting on the significance of the collaboration, Laurence Jones, JAMPRO’s Europe manager, stated, “Jamaica is rapidly positioning itself as a global leader in IT and Global Digital Services, and this mission underscores our commitment to expanding export market opportunities for Jamaican companies. With the support of the ITC and the UKTP Programme, this initiative will allow Jamaica’s GDS sector [players] to engage with UK-based firms and showcase the innovation, talent, and efficiency that our companies bring to the table.”

He added: “Strengthening our exports to the UK will not only drive economic growth but also reinforce Jamaica’s reputation as a hub for world-class digital services.”

As part of the mission, JAMPRO will facilitate business-to-business (B2B) meetings to connect Jamaican GDS companies with UK-based firms seeking high-quality and globally competitive digital solutions. Some of these meetings will be hosted at JAMPRO’s offices within the Jamaican High Commission in London.  JAMPRO will also host a business networking event at the high commission to showcase Jamaica’s Global Digital Services Sector.

President of JAMPRO Shullette Cox highlighted the initiative’s broader economic significance.

“Jamaica’s technology and outsourcing industries, which together comprise the GDS sector, is vital to our nation’s economic growth, allowing Jamaica to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions to clients globally. This mission is a testament to our commitment and work in strengthening trade ties with the UK and will undoubtedly help to position Jamaica as a competitive player in the digital services landscape,” she said.

The UKTP programme will also provide participating companies with support through targeted coaching, training in export marketing and opportunities to engage stakeholders in B2B events.

JAMPRO said the mission is being executed to help companies accelerate their business development and export services to the UK.
