The Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) is redesigning its Enterprise Developmental Export Growth (EXPORT MAX) programme to offer more targeted assistance to exporters and export-ready firms,

The announcement came during a recent ‘Exporter Information Session’ at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel in Kingston.

Speaking at the event, Shullette Cox, president at JAMPRO, outlined the revamping process, emphasising its focus on “capacity-building, advocacy, and market penetration support” tailored to individual entities. Cox assured that EXPORT MAX would provide customised services by identifying specific company needs and implementing tailored initiatives.

Cox said, “It is through this comprehensive programme that you will be able to receive required assistance with capacity improvements to meet the demands of the export market.”

She indicated that once firms are market-ready, JAMPRO will facilitate activities like trade shows, ministerial export missions, and business-to-business matchmaking meetings to connect them with potential overseas buyers. Moreover, the newly established exporter facilitation team at JAMPRO is set to collaborate with exporters to build relationships within the export community, identify challenges, and eliminate obstacles wherever possible.

She added that the team has engaged with over 240 inactive exporters to understand the factors contributing to their dormancy. Three cohorts of companies have successfully completed the programme.

JAMPRO is currently accepting new registrations. Interested parties can apply online free of cost at exportmaxja.co.
