Movie fans worldwide are hyped for British actor Jason Statham, who stars in an adrenaline-packed teaser trailer for new film Wrath of Man.
The trailer, which premiered late Monday (March 29), is filled with intense scenes and is a fitting reunion between Statham and director Guy Ritchie.
Wrath of Man, based on the 2004 French thriller Le Convoyeur by Nicolas Boukhrief follows Statham as H, a “mysterious and wild-eyed new cash truck security guard” who exhibits insanely assassin-level money-protecting skills during an attempted robbery.
Shocked by his ruthlessness, several of H’s coworkers begin to suspect he is the inside man for a heist or worse, an undercover agent, but the truth is far more vengeful.
Statham essentially stars as a complicated, heartbroken father, who is diving headfirst into Los Angeles’ criminal underbelly to find the men responsible for his son’s death.
The nearly three-minute, high-octane trailer has sent Statham into the stratosphere of anticipation on Twitter, becoming the number one trending topic well into Tuesday.
Many are likening Wrath of Man to John Wick, but instead of Keanu Reeves’ character losing his dog to kickstart a franchise, H’s son is killed to spur him on the path of revenge.
The film also stars Scott Eastwood, Josh Hartnett, Jeffery Donovan, Laz Alonso, Holt McCallany and rapper Post Malone.
