Amoya Brown, a 25-year-old cashier and young mother, is slowly piecing together her dreams, one block, one beam, one hope at a time.

Thanks to an unexpected J$100,000 win from Digicel’s Remix D’Summa promotion, she can now resume buying materials and continue building her home, a project she began in 2023.

Balancing work at a wholesale and supermarket with caring for her 10-month-old daughter, Treasure Wynter, has been a constant challenge. Construction paused during her pregnancy, but Amoya had been thinking about resuming when the Digicel win gave her the push she needed, a reminder, she says, that God is an on-time God. “When mi get the call, mi keep on a ask if a real sumn this… mi even call Digicel customer service to double-check,” she laughed, recalling the moment she won.

Of all the moments in her journey so far, seeing the foundation laid for the first time stands out the most. “When the guys were digging the foundation, mi nearly break down cause just seeing everything… like this is exactly what mi supposed to be doing,” she said.

For Amoya, this home is a legacy for her daughter. “I love to have my own things, and I don’t want to be working and not seeing anything out of it. Now that I’m with child, it’s good to know I’ll have something for my daughter.”

Her dreams don’t stop there. One day, she hopes to return to school and pursue a career in hospitality. For now, she continues the daily grind, raising Treasure and building piece by piece toward her goal.
