Private Ejay Domville, 20, was slain in the West Kingston Police Division on Friday, August 23, 2024.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has dismissed reports that a serving member has been arrested over the shooting death of Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) Private Ejay Domville in August.

“We wish to categorically state that these reports are false. No serving member of the JCF has been taken into custody in relation to this matter,” the JCF said.

The JCF explained that as part of the investigation into the death of the young soldier on Friday, August 23, in Kingston, police apprehended a 31-year-old resident of Charles Street on Saturday, September 28 who was taken to the Major Investigations Division (MID) for questioning.

“It is important to clarify that the individual in question is not a serving member of the JCF. He was dismissed as a trainee from the force over two years ago, following an unrelated incident.

“His apprehension occurred during the course of the investigation but is not directly connected to the death of the JDF private. The JCF urges the public and media outlets to ensure that information is thoroughly verified before being disseminated,” the JCF said.

Domville was killed in a reported shootout with gunmen.
