JDF Cooperative Credit Union awards students from ‘Treasure Chest’

Over 20 students who recently completed the PEP, CSEC, and CAPE exams, as well as 18 continuing students were the beneficiaries of scholarships, totalling over J$1.7 million, disbursed during the Jamaica Defence Force Co-operative Credit Union (JDF CCU) annual Treasure Chest Scholarship Award Ceremony.

The event was held on October 4 at the Caribbean Military Academy to recognise the outstanding performances of the students in their examinations.

Since the program’s inception, the Treasure Chest Scholarship Awards has played a pivotal role in supporting the educational journeys of over 200 students. To date, the JDF CCU has disbursed more than $25 million in scholarships..

Kirlew Duncan, business development officer of the JDF CCU, highlighted the importance of the event.

“These awards have become a cornerstone of the JDF CCU’s commitment to the academic development of our youth. The impact has been profound, with over 200 students benefiting since the programme’s launch,” he said.

The Treasure Chest Scholarship Award Ceremony remains a highlight in the Credit Union’s calendar, reaffirming its dedication to uplifting and investing in the next generation of leaders. The initiative continues to provide financial assistance and opportunities for students to excel academically and build brighter futures.
