The Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) Montego Bay Chapter continues to lead with purpose, deepening its commitment to community development through its annual charity showcase and cultural experience, ‘A Celebration of Fine Jamaican Cuisine’.
The highly anticipated event returns on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the historic Rose Hall Great House, bringing together the best of Jamaican hospitality, culture, and community spirit for a night of unforgettable impact.
Now in its 12th year, the event has raised over J$30 million, directly supporting a range of vital community-based projects. These initiatives span education, environmental preservation, health care, and public safety, positively affecting countless lives across Montego Bay. Longstanding beneficiaries include the SOS Children’s Village, Refuge of Hope, Lethe School for the Deaf, and the Cartagena Basic School have received critical support to meet the standards of the Early Childhood Commission. Scholarships and ongoing investment in youth education remain a key priority.
This impactful work is made possible through the collective efforts of JHTA’s committed membership and its strong partnerships with private sector stakeholders, local organisations, and corporate sponsors.
Together, they ensure the continued success and sustainability of the Chapter’s social outreach programmes. “The heartbeat of our work is rooted in service, not just to our visitors, but to the communities that are the lifeblood of our tourism product,” said Kerry-Ann Quallo Casserly, Chair of the JHTA Montego Bay Chapter.
“Our continued mission of giving back is strengthened by the unwavering collaboration of our members and the business community. Their passion and support are what make initiatives like this not only possible but truly impactful.”
Kicking off at 8:00 PM, this year’s showcase promises an immersive culinary and cultural journey, featuring gourmet creations by executive chefs from Montego Bay’s leading resorts. Guests will also enjoy live entertainment and be introduced to a curated spotlight on local linkages, with fashion designers, artisans, and craftsmen integrated into the evening’s experience, a true celebration of Jamaican creativity and heritage. As one of Montego Bay’s signature socially responsible events, A Celebration of Fine Jamaican Cuisine continues to inspire purpose, pride, and participation across sectors—proving that when community and industry collaborate, everyone wins.
