British author best known for writing Harry Potter, JK Rowling is perplexed at the news that a toddler was suspended from a nursery for incorrectly identifying their classmate as transexual.

“This is totalitarian insanity. If you think small children should be punished for being able to recognise sex, you are a dangerous zealot who should be nowhere near kids or in any position of authority over them,” she posted to her X.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk shared the post in agreement with Rowling, stating that the incident was “utter madness!”

According to data from the Department for Education (DfE) obtained by The Telegraph a child aged three or four, was suspended from a public school in the US in the academic year 2022/23 for “abuse against sexual orientation and gender identity”.

Reports reveal that 94 students from comparable primary schools faced suspension or permanent exclusion for transphobia or homophobia during the same year. Among them were ten Year 1 pupils, three from Year 2—where the oldest students were seven—and one child of nursery age.

J.K. Rowling has been at the centre of considerable debate and has essentially been ‘cancelled’ online due to her opinions on transgender topics, especially her comments about self-identified gender.

Many critics have labelled her views as transphobic, resulting in accusations that she aligns with TERF ideology (trans-exclusionary radical feminism).
