JMMB bank launches point-of-sale offerings to increase payment solutions for businesses

JMMB Bank recently announced the launch of its point-of-sale (POS) solution which is backed by the WiPay platform -a revolutionary offering – in the local market. 

This partnership supports greater digitisation of businesses, increased digital payments acceptance infrastructure, and facilitates omnichannel payment solutions for businesses, by bringing in-person and online sales together.

These POS solutions include: POS devices, e-commerce solutions and quick response QR code (scan to pay) solutions, all designed to take business payment solutions to the next level.

Country Manager of Corporate Client Partnership at JMMB Bank, Alwayne Cousins, explains that retailers are looking to enhance their in-store customer experience to meet the speed and convenience of the online and in-store checkout experiences.

“Our role in helping businesses scale and grow has never been more important, with increased digitisation of payments and the changing global environment. As such, the introduction of these POS solutions will assist businesses to provide a seamless experience both in-person and online; and offer them flexibility throughout the checkout process, so they can better meet their customers’ needs.”

JMMB Bank’s digital in-store solution is easy to set up and use, offering merchants/ businesses simplicity and speed, while making the payment process seamless for their clients. Additionally, clients can utilise a contactless payment option via the QR code/ Scan-to-Pay, using their smartphone (or tablets) with data-access.  Cousins also outlined that the solution, which will have an integrated barcode scanner, is l being rolled-out across the island, provides shoppers with an improved in-store experience and merchants with more e-commerce options.

The introduction of these POS solutions with the regional payment service provider, Wi-Pay, builds on the digital transformation foundation that JMMB Group has set, having introduced its Visa-enabled debit card in Trinidad and Tobago, real-time trading, JMMB Moneyline online sign-up, roll-out of intelligent automated teller machines (ATMs), in Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica and virtual personality Johanna.

In sharing more about the digital transformation process, general manager, digital services, JMMB Group, Gifford Rankine, said: “We spent a lot of time improving the POS offering to improve client experience and ensure seamless merchant integration. Since the pandemic, it has become more apparent than ever that an omnichannel approach will set merchants up for success. These POS solutions accept all Visa and MasterCard debit and credit cards.
