
John Wick: Chapter 4 has set a franchise and pandemic record opening for Lionsgate with US$73.5 million, including US$25.8 million from the domestic box office and US$64 million from overseas markets.
The film debuted at number one in all 71 markets where it was released over the weekend. John Wick: Chapter 4 is Keanu Reeves’ second-best live-action opening, following The Matrix Reloaded in 2003.
It is also the biggest R-rated opening post-pandemic, surpassing Halloween Kills. The film is said to be Reeves’ final film in the core franchise.
