A St. Catherine man has been charged with multiple firearm-related offences following a shooting that left a man injured along Yakka Avenue in Kingston 11 last year.

Charged is 38-year-old Andre Robinson, otherwise called ‘Joker’, of Roadside district, Linstead, St. Catherine.

Reports from the Olympic Gardens Police are that about 6:45 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, a motor vehicle with Robinson aboard approached a man who was standing along the roadway. Robinson, who was seated in the back seat, allegedly brandished a firearm and opened fire, hitting the man before escaping the area.

The injured man was assisted to hospital, where he was treated.

A report was made to the police and, following intensive investigations, Robinson was apprehended during an operation in the St. Catherine South Policing Division. He was later placed on an identification parade, where he was positively identified and subsequently charged.

His court date is being finalised.
