Jordan Watkins of Porsche Jamaica, has recently been promoted to technical support specialist, making him the first such specialist in the country, and also the first for the ATL Automotive Group.
In Watkins’ new role, he now oversees the entirety of the technical aspects of Porsche Jamaica’s aftersales operations, as well as its workshop operations. He also supports the sales and parts departments, and works closely with the Miami-based Porsche Latin America team.
Additionally, Watkins’ most recent qualification from Porsche Latin America is ‘High Voltage Expert’ (HVE) —the highest level of high-voltage training—acquired in April 2024. The HVE is qualified to perform repairs to Porsche’s high-voltage batteries, and to perform classifications on Porsche’s high-voltage batteries that may be in a critical state.
Watkins joined Porsche Jamaica in November 2016, initially working at its Montego Bay location, before transferring to Kingston in October 2020.
Jason Quaroni, Aftersales Manager—Oxford Road, ATL Automotive Group, remarked: “Technical support specialist positions, due to the certifications and advanced skill levels they require, have typically been ‘imported’, so Jordan’s promotion is a testament to his honed expertise, strong work ethic, and ATL’s commitment to upskilling staff and promoting from within. He successfully completed the Bronze and Silver levels of the Zertifizierter Porsche Techniker (ZPT) Certification in November 2021 and May 2023 respectively, and is currently waiting on the results of the [ZPT] Gold level he recently completed in Buenos Aires, Argentina. No doubt he’ll be successful and continue to be a strong asset to Porsche Jamaica.”
The ZPT is a global certification programme for Porsche service technicians, aiming to ensure a high qualification level among service technicians at Porsche partners worldwide.
