Joseph Issa appointed Custos of St Ann

Joseph Issa, CD, JP, has officially assumed the role of Custos Rotulorum for St Ann, Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced on Thursday.

The appointment ceremony took place at the historic Seville Heritage Park, underscoring the parish’s cultural and historical significance. As Custos, Issa will serve as the Governor-General’s representative in St Ann, tasked with promoting civic pride and ensuring justice and public service are accessible throughout the parish.

In his post, Prime Minister Holness congratulated Issa and expressed confidence in his ability to inspire and uplift the residents of St Ann.

“Congratulations, Hon. Issa, your leadership will undoubtedly inspire and uplift the people of St Ann!” Holness posted on X.

This momentous appointment places Issa at the forefront of community leadership in Jamaica’s largest parish, known for its rich heritage and vibrant tourism industry.

The position of Custos Rotulorum is a cornerstone of Jamaica’s civic framework, with Custodes playing an essential role in the nation’s justice and governance systems.
