Olympic star Julien Alfred sprinted to a bronze medal in the women’s 60m at the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships.
The race took place on Saturday, March 21, at the Kujawsko Pomorska Arena in Toruń, Poland, where Alfred crossed the line in 7.03 seconds, claiming her second consecutive bronze and fifth major global medal.
Italy’s Zaynab Dosso took gold with a blazing 7.00-second finish from lane 4, earning her first global title after previous bronze and silver medals. Jacious Sears of the United States secured silver in 7.03 seconds, setting a personal best thanks to a lightning-fast start.
Alfred, whose reaction time of 0.171 seconds was the slowest among the finalists, struggled out of the blocks but powered through to finish third. Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith had the fastest start at 0.153 seconds but finished seventh, while Jamaica’s Jonielle Smith came fifth.
