Juliet Cuthbert Flynn, Member of Parliament for St Andrew West Rural has announced a $4 million light project across the constituency.
The project will be executed through the The Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo) Spruce Up programme where solar lights will be installed to over 30 communities across West Rural.
“Many communities are in darkness, the children and the elderly and the disabled have to use their phone or a flashlight to get home. This will be a $4million project. Thanks to Minister Bartlett for this annual allocation as we brighten communities and make them safer,” she said.
Flynn was made the disclosure during her contribution to the state of the constituency debate on Wednesday.
Additionally, Flynn announced that the Rose Hill community will benefit from a $2 million concrete road surface in the coming months through my constituency development fund. She said this will greatly benefit community members, especially the elderly and children.
