Popular jerk restaurant Jungle Fiah Buffet Restaurant Limited has dismissed claims that it was the defendant in a lawsuit that prohibits it from using the name to advertise its business.

Reports are that a lawsuit was brought against the business by Paradise Consortium Limited, which trades as Jungle Fyah. Media reports say that a Supreme Court judge ruled last month that ‘Jungle Fiah’ could not use any names that are visually similar to ‘Jungle Fyah’ in its restaurant business.

However, in a statement responding to the reports, Franklyn Mason Jr, director and secretary of Jungle Fiah, said the claims are false.

“The Jungle Fiah Buffet Restaurant Limited is a legally registered company and is duly operating under the legal ambits of its said registration. The company also wishes to inform the general public that it has never been party to any lawsuit and more specifically, was not party to the aforementioned suit,” he wrote.

He added that daily operations will continue at all its locations as usual, and the team is ready to serve customers this holiday season.

The case was reportedly filed under the claim that Jungle Fiah misled the public to believe that Jungle Fiah and Jungle Fyah are the same entities, causing Jungle Fyah to suffer losses and eventually close.

However, the defendant claimed that the names of the businesses were not similar because it traded as Jungle Fiah Buffet Restaurant Limited; not Jungle Fiah.

The judge reportedly ruled that Jungle Fiah is prohibited from using the name for its business and should hand over all branded material with the name of the business. The defendant was also reportedly ordered to pay over all profits earned from using the claimant’s business name.
