After weeks of being the centre of a contentious citizenship row, Opposition Leader Mark Golding today (June 30) says he will be renouncing his British ties.

Golding, addressing a meeting of the People’s National Party (PNP) National Executive Committee held at the Morant Villa in St Thomas, mused that he would not want the citizenship row to potentially affect election prospects.

He maintained that it was a moral and political decision as, being from the Commonwealth realm, there is no legal requirement for his citizenship renunciation.
