Singer Billie Eilish and rapper Kanye West are said to be the headliners for 2022’s Coachella on consecutive Saturdays and consecutive Sundays respectively.

Coachella, slated to take place in April, has been postponed several times in the last two years due to the novel coronavirus.

The festival, already sold out, will be held over consecutive weekends beginning on April 15 and ending April 24. It will be held in California at the Empire Polo Club.

The surge in Omicron cases may however pose a threat to the long awaited festival, much as it has to the Grammy Awards ceremony which had been scheduled to take place January 31 but has been postponed.

West, who headlined the festival back in 2011, has also made several other appearances over the years. Now known as Ye, the rapper’s April 17 performance falls on Easter Sunday and will reportedly be in the vein of his Sunday Service gospel-themed show, which he brought to Coachella in 2019.

Eilish will be the youngest headliner to ever grace the stage.

An official announcement from Goldenvice, the festival’s parent company, is expected to be made in a few days.

Original headliners announced in 2020 were Travis Scott and Frank Ocean and Rage Against the Machine. However, the latter moved his appearance to 2023, while Travis Scott’s infamous Astroworld tragedy saw him removed from the lineup.
