Multi-Grammy award-winning singer, Kanye West is keeping the momentum going following the release of his new album, Donda, by filing to trademark the name for tech products.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, West, the innovative rapper, producer and entrepreneur, may be expanding his empire into the tech product market very soon.

In preparation for the expansion, the Jesus is King rapper is looking to use the name ‘Donda’ in memory of his late mother, Dr Donda West, who died in 2007 following a cosmetic procedure, to brand tablet computers, audio speakers, earbuds, headphones and other tech devices of the like.

In addition, the multi-hyphenate rap star also plans to use the name for wearable computers such as smartwatches, smart glasses and activity trackers.

Long a fan of tech company Apple, West in a 2015 interview said he passed up a multimillion-dollar partnership with the tech giant, though in hindsight he may have taken a page or two from the late Steve Jobs.

So will Donda become the next big tech conglomerate of our time? Only time will tell.
