After the release of this new album ‘Vultures 1‘, controversial American rapper Kanye West as become Spotify’s top global artiste, and right behind him at second place is non-other than Taylor Swift.
The collaborative rap album Vultures 1 by the new super-duo ¥$, comprising Kayne West (The Y stands for Yeezus) and Ty Dolla Sign (the $ representing him). The album consist of 18 songs, with features from Chris Brown, Quavo, North West and more.
The controversial West has been under fire since his antisemitic rant last year about the Jewish community on the ‘Drink Champs’ podcast with N.O.R.E and DJ EFN and his later tweets doubling down.
The unfortunate opinions of West on the Jewish community has now impacted the public’s view and support of this album, with critics bashing the contents, the production and his apparent reiteration of his antisemitic views.

Music critic Anthony Fantano said in his review, which was actually not quite a review but more of an explanation of why he could not critique Kanye’s latest work, that “this is completely unreviewable trash”.
The album has since been removed from Apple Music & iTunes charts, where it had debuted at number one.
Spotify’s top global artiste appears to be the only chart the ‘Vultures 1‘ has managed to climb.
