Rappers Kanye West and Drake, who on November 16 publicly squashed their more than decade-long feud, are set to take the stage later today in a collaborative effort for tonight’s (December 9) ‘Free Larry Hoover’ benefit concert.
The feud was thawed by American music executive J Prince, who has been known to ‘settle beefs’ between several entertainers in the past. West, during his effort to make peace with the Certified Lover Boy artiste, had proposed putting their pride aside and joining efforts to help free convicted criminal, Larry Hoover.
The concert is aimed at raising awareness of Larry Hoover’s plight and mobilising efforts to free him from prison. The concert in particular will be focusing on criminal reform in general.
The ‘Free Larry Hoover’ benefit concert will take place at the Los Angles Colosseum.
Larry Hoover, 70, is the co-founder of the infamous Chicago gang called Gangster Disciples. In 1973, three years after the gang’s establishment, Hoover was convicted of murder and is currently serving multiple life sentences at the ADX Florence Prison in Colorado.

Reports are that the estimated budget for the concert stands at US$10 million, which covers production costs, stage construction, event staff, security, and more. The crew has been working around the clock to finish building the massive stage.
The performance will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video and in select IMAX theaters across North America.
