Outspoken People’s National Party (PNP) stalwart KD Knight, on Thursday (August 21), filed a defamation lawsuit against Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) campaign manager Dr Christopher Tufton, Our Today can confirm.

A source at the Duke Street-based Knight, Junor & Samuels law firm disclosed that the suit was filed in the Supreme Court this morning, six days after Tufton failed to retract and publicly apologise as demanded by a letter issued to the politician last Wednesday for a doctored audio clip played at the JLP Mass Rally in Half-Way Tree, St Andrew.

The initial deadline, according to the letter, was 11:00 am, last Friday, August 15.

More details to come.
