American rap giant Kendrick Lamar mounted an epic clap-back to Drake in their ongoing tit-for-tat battle, with his new diss record ‘Euphoria‘.
The reply to Drake’s ‘Taylor Made Freestyle‘, released by the Mr Morale hitmaker on Tuesday (April 30) was everything fans hoped it would be and more, with an impressive six-minute, 23-second run-time.
‘Kunfu-Kenny’ has gotten his hits in, and they have all landed below the belt
Background
A rap beef of epic proportions started between American rappers, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole and Drake, with warning shots being fired on Future and Metro Boomin’s ‘Like That‘ where Lamar, tired of being lumped together in the so-called ‘Big Three’ of hip-hop, stated emphatically “it’s just big me”.
Since then, J Cole responded with’7 Minute Drill‘, but just two days later, he retracted the song, calling it “The lamest sh*t I’ve ever done in my life”
As a fan of rap, you either hated or respected Cole’s decision to fall back and exit the big three discussions.
Everybody vs Drake
Drake subsequently fired back at Kendrick, Metro Boomin, Future, Rick Ross and The Weeknd after they collaborated in diss records toward him on Future and Metro Boomin’s ‘We Don’t Trust You‘ and ‘We Still Don’t Trust You‘ albums.
Drake’s diss record, Push Up, released a week after Cole’s apology, had the Six God foaming at the mouth, ready for battle. Rick Ross responded— to little fanfare with Champagne Moments, a respectable record, where the Maybach boss clowns Drake for ‘trying to fit in’ with the real players in hip-hop, exposing Drake as a cultural chameleon.
Drake more or less ignored Ross, making a second diss track ‘Taylor Made Freestyle‘ aimed specifically at Lamar where artificial intelligence (AI) was used to have the late Tupac Shakur rapping with Snoop Dogg, all closed out by Drake—a lightning rod practically begging Kendrick to respond.
Drake has since been threatened with legal action by the estate of Tupac Shakur for using the rapper’s voice in a new song without permission.
Now, ‘Euphoria’…
But the moment everyone was waiting for with bated breath finally arrived as Kendrick Lamar sending rap fans into frenzied excitement
As ‘Drake’, ‘Kendrick’, and ‘Euphoria’ immediately began trending on social media platform X.com, formerly Twitter, many in the court of public opinion say the diss track was well worth the wait for those who love the sport of rap.
Fans insist Drake has to come back even harder—and he has his work cut out for him going up against a Pulitzer Prize winner.
Some hot bars from Euphoria:
“Cutthroat business, you got shit twisted
What is it? The braids?
I hurt your feelings? You don’t wanna work with me no more? Okay
There’s three GOATs left, and I see two of them kissin’ and huggin’ on stage”

“It’s always been about love and hate, now let me say I’m the biggest hater
I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk
I hate the way that you dress
I hate the way you sneak diss, if I catch flight, it’s gon’ be direct”
