Kanya Jackson-Taylor’s story is one of resilience, determination, and unwavering commitment.

After the tragic loss of her husband, Kanya has balanced single motherhood while excelling in her academic and professional pursuits. Her perseverance and dedication have landed her as the 2024 recipient of the Kenneth Chung Memorial accounting scholarship, a recognition of her extraordinary journey and potential.

The Kenneth Chung Memorial accounting scholarship celebrates not only academic excellence but also addresses financial need, recognising students like Kanya who embody perseverance and determination. Since its establishment, the scholarship has empowered students to overcome challenges and excel, providing hope and opportunities for brighter futures.

The scholarship handover ceremony was held last December, at the ICAJ’s office in Kingston.

The scholarship, offered by the Chung family in memory of patriarch Kenneth Chung, is administered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ) and is specifically for second-year MSc accounting students at the Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM) at the University of the West Indies (UWI).
