In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, KFC Jamaica has activated a coordinated meal-support programme to assist households and frontline teams across the island.

With several parishes severely affected by flooding and infrastructural damage, thousands of meals have already been distributed, and KFC Jamaica continues to provide support to families and essential workers as communities work to recover.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to standing with Jamaica through this difficult period and to supporting those most affected.

Teams from several KFC locations were activated to cook, assemble, and send out meals to areas in need. Between Friday and Sunday, nearly 6,000 meals were provided, with the company committing to sustaining this effort by supplying approximately 2,000 meals each day during the recovery period.

The initiative is one component of an $18 million support package that includes meals and cash contributions toward national relief. KFC Jamaica noted that this marks the first phase of its wider response in supporting communities during recovery.

The effort has been driven in large part by employees who, despite being affected by Hurricane Melissa themselves, turned out to assist with preparations. According to Andrei Roper, Marketing Manager at KFC Jamaica, their dedication made it possible to quickly reach families and emergency service workers operating in difficult conditions.

“The recovery journey will take time, but no one should feel alone in it. We remain fully committed to supporting our communities and providing meaningful assistance,” Roper said.

KFC Jamaica will continue dispatching meals across affected parishes, working alongside national partners and community organisations to aid ongoing relief efforts.
