The soul/alternative R&B singer dropped his third studio album on Friday (July 2), marking his re-entry into the music industry.

The 16-track album features the singer’s smooth, soulful voice, blending harmonies with ease. On X, formerly known as Twitter, he posted: “This album feels like my return to form, and I’m so happy to finally be back!! Can’t wait to do it all over again.”

‘Sincere’ comes after Khalid’s noticeable inconsistent releases in 2021 and his absence in 2020.

He dropped ‘Softest Touch’ in March 2023, and in an interview with Apple Music, he said: “It’s been an interesting couple of years. I feel like everybody’s been a little bit confused and sad and under the weather, and so I just wanted to put something out for my fans that I felt was undeniably happy. There’s good vibes, good energy, just contributing to the world and giving people some love to hold onto.”

Khalid was involved in a car crash in June 2023 and stepped away from the spotlight for recovery, although no official statement was released from the singer himself.

The talented musician achieved his first hit song at eighteen, with ‘Location’ and it’s follow-up ‘Young Dumb and Broke’ introduced him to airwaves worldwide. Khalid soon released his debut album ‘American Teen’ which was nominated for the ‘Best Urban Contemporary Album’ at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.

Since then, he’s gone on to work with acts like SZA, Alicia Keys, Normani, and Disclosure.
