The NBA’s Friday (November 24) double-header provided contrasting wins for the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors.
The first game saw the Knicks play host to the Miami Heat in Madison Square Garden.
Miami came out poised to have the New York crowd silent during the game with a balanced showing to start the contest.
They would outscore their opponents by three points in the first quarter.
However, the home team would remain within touching distance the entire second quarter and eventually outscore their visitors to take a slim one-point lead into the half.
The Heat seemed to have used half-time to reset their powers considering the third quarter would see them start with 17 straight points and it seemed the Knicks were in for a long second-half.
The Knicks struggled on offense, compounded by not being able to make any defensive stops.
The Heat points rained down all quarter and they outscored New York by 17 points and carried incredible momentum going into the final stanza.
The second half would be a tale of two quarters and the Heat was not only unable to maintain their form, their prowess from the third quarter quickly turned into a distant memory as the home team would chip away at the lead until eventually they were up by one with 2 minutes to go in the game.
The Heat scored an abysmal 11 points in the closing frame and the Knicks would successfully pull off a come-from-behind victory and win 100-98.
Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks with 24 points, while Immanuel Quickley chipped in 20 points off the bench.
Jimmy Butler with 23 points and Bam Adebayo with 21 points top-scored for the Heat in a losing effort.
The second game of the double-header saw the Warriors square off against the San Antonio Spurs at home in the Chase Center.
The Spurs showed great poise in the opening quarter and matched the Warriors for scoring and managed to create a little separation and led going into quarter two by three points.
The Warriors would respond in the second quarter with a stronger defensive presence and the Spurs were not making shots as easily as they were in the first quarter.
They would eventually be outscored by seven points and go into the half down by four points.
The Warriors did not have their characteristic offensive explosion that has become synonymous with a third quarter, especially at home, as San Antonio seemed to always string a run together to ensure the Warriors never got too far away.
The home team won the quarter by one point and went into the final frame up by five points.

The final quarter would see the teams trade runs like the third, with the Spurs taking full advantage of six straight turnovers by the Warriors.
The Warriors would go into the foul bonus in the last 3 minutes and in order to disrupt their offense, the Spurs would foul to stop the run of play.
However, the Warriors were able to ensure the ball got to either Stephen Curry or Klay Thompson, who are both incredible at the line, and their clutch free throws would keep the Warriors’ nose in front and they eventually went on to win 118-112.
Devin Vassell would lead the Spurs off the bench with 24 points, while Victor Wembanyama and Keldon Johnson would contribute 22 points each.
Superstar Curry would lead all scorers with a 35-point night.
