Konnexx Services Limited donates sanitisation products and equipment to hospitals

Konnexx Services Limited has donated sanitisation products and equipment to hospitals to help prevent the harmful spread of viruses such as COVID-19.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness said in a social media post on Wednesday (January 18) that the items will be distributed to 24 hospitals across the region to assist in the continuing efforts to reduce the spread of viruses and bacterial diseases.

Among the items donated by the company for distribution are automatic dispensers and electrostatic sprayers.

Holness, who was present at the handover ceremony on Wednesday (January 18), expressed his gratitude to Dean Nevers, chief executive officer of Konnexx, for the donation which he described as a “significant initiative and display of corporate social responsibility”.

Konnexx Services Limited is a telecommunications engineering company that has been providing alternate energy solutions and engineering services to Jamaica since 2003.

The engineering company has also partnered with regional telecommunications entities, international hotel chains, airports and food and beverage companies such as Nestle.

The donation comes at a time when the country has seen an increase in the rate of new COVID-19 cases since the start of the year.

The country recorded 175 new COVID-19 cases from January 10 to 16.
