Jamaican dancehall artiste Konshens is today (April 27) thankful his wife, Latoya Spence, is okay after he reported her missing only to learn she was involved in a motor vehicle collision and admitted in hospital.

The entertainer, in a statement via Instagram this afternoon, elaborated that he panicked when he could not ascertain his pregnant wife’s wellbeing after the accident, which prompted him to get the Miami Police Department involved. 

Konshens, born Garfield Spence, lauded the “swift action” of the City of Miami police and has now asked well-intentioned Jamaicans to give the family some privacy at this time.

“FOUND HER.

She is safe.

She had an accident and got admitted without my knowledge. 

Realizing she was not responding to my calls and texts i started calling around hospitals in the area and them all saying no patient by that name was there i had no choice but to alert the police. The police did their own search and found that she was indeed admitted, she was already found before the news alert went out but it was already in motion. 

Many thanks for all the calls and prayers, she is now in recovery with no serious injuries give thanks. This is a tuff time for our family and i will appreciate all the privacy we can get at this time. 

Thanks again to Miami PD for their swift action. (sic)”

Latoya Spence, 41, who is said to be four months pregnant, was reported missing on Monday, April 24 around 3:00 pm. 

According to the Miami PD alert, which was shared on Twitter, Spence was last seen in the upscale Edgewater area of Miami in a black sweater and shorts.

The missing person bulletin also indicated that Spence was last seen driving a 2017 Matte Black Jeep Wrangler with oversized tires.

News reports out of Miami later announced on Wednesday that Spence was located in an undisclosed hospital. Neither her physical state nor any mention of injuries was reported.
