Local production, media and advertising agency Limners and Bards Limited, which trades as The LAB, is positioning to capitalise on the booming global film industry and the increasing demand for fresh international content.
To this extent, The LAB continues to grow and diversify whilst solidifying strategic initiatives to take advantage of this current boom in the global film industry. The film market is now experiencing a significant surge, with demand for international content at an all-time high.
As part of this push, The LAB has just completed filming its first feature film, “Love Offside,” a sports romantic comedy showcasing the vibrant culture and dynamic talent of Jamaica. The film, features an impressive cast and has now entered the editing phase is slated for a February 2025 release, perfectly timed to meet the growing appetite for diverse and engaging content.

Chairman Steven Gooden and CEO, Kimala Bennett say over the next 12 months, the company will be producing three films and three web series. In parallel, The LAB is gearing up for regional expansion with plans to engage with various businesses and explore strategic partnerships across the Caribbean.
The goal is to solidify the junior market listed company’s presence in these markets, leveraging the region’s growing influence in the global media landscape.
