Dearest Bridgerton fans, salutations. Though Regé-Jean Page will no longer be a part of the Netflix series, love is still in the air as the show is sure to continue through to season four.
Lady Whistledown herself shared the news on Bridgerton’s Instagram page on Tuesday (April 13).
“It seems we have a rather special announcement,” she writes. “Bridgerton shall return for seasons three and four. This author shall have to purchase more ink…”
Lady Whistledown has sparked excitement in viewers now that she has confirmed not only a second season but also seasons three and four.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Netflix’s VP of Global TV, Bela Bajaria said, “Bridgerton swept us off our feet. The creative team, led by Shonda [Rhimes], knew the material and delivered a beautiful, emotional, romantic drama for our members.”
She continued: “They have some exciting plans for the future, and we think audiences will continue to swoon for this show. We’re planning to be in the Bridgerton business for a long time to come.”
Bridgerton is set in the regency-era of London where members of the Bridgerton family attempt to find love within their social structure.
Season one focused on the love affair between Phoebe Dynevor who was cast as Daphne and the Duke of Hastings, played by Regé-Jean Page.
Season two will be focusing on Daphne’s brother, Anthony Bridgerton’s search for a partner.
Hopefully season two, three and four will be one to remember just as season one left his viewers clinging onto their chairs in need of more.
