LASCO Financial Services, TotalEnergies, and the Transport Operators Development & Sustainable Services (TODSS) have launched a new partnership on Wednesday, February 12 to provide LASCO GOLD cardholders with cashback rewards on fuel purchases at TotalEnergies service stations across Jamaica.
The initiative, introduced during a press launch at the TotalEnergies Headquarters in Kingston, offers motorists up to JMD$3 per litre in cashback when they use their LASCO GOLD card at any of the 62 participating service stations. The cashback will be automatically credited to cardholders’ accounts within 48 hours, providing tangible financial relief amid rising operational costs.
Commercial Director at TotalEnergies, Sanjeev Sheosankar, explained that the initiative is in line with the company’s customer-centric approach to offering practical solutions in response to fluctuating fuel prices.

“We’ve been actively working towards reaching your needs by diversifying the offerings at our service stations… we are now offering you lubricant and coolant top-ups at our service station by opening your bonnets, opening the bonus of your vehicles. And we want to make sure that we’re receiving a comprehensive service with all of these offers that we are bringing to you.”
“Today, we launch our partnership with Lascaux, where we will be offering Lasco card members up to a $3 discount at our service stations. Not only that. This morning, our LASCO partners, through our Managing Director, Mister Singh, committed to matching that benefit, thereby doubling it once a month for all our mutual customers [taking] the benefit to up to $6.
Sheosankar also shared that Total Energies provides top-quality products.

“We have the best quality products on the island. And now at these more competitive prices, we are making them accessible to everyone. When we sought to strengthen our relationship with our customers and the local markets, including the TODSS organization, Lasco Financial Services stepped up and brought their card solution. The solution is not only available to TODSS members but to all Lasco Financial Services card carriers.
Sheosankar plans to reward customers who shop at Total Energy Stations, noting the challenges faced by members in their daily lives are not unknown to him.
“So, we understand that fuel expenses…Our goal is to keep this cost manageable so you can focus on what truly matters without worrying about your fuel budget. By offering these rewards, $3, at our 62 stations on the island, we want to show our appreciation and commitment by getting closer to you, our customers, and our valued customers,” he added.

The cash benefits will be paid back quickly, allowing customers to enjoy the rewards they earn from TotalEnergies Jamaica locations. There will be no fees or changes to our regular service, which we provide with a smile.
Managing Director of LASCO Financial Services, Jacinth Hall-Tracey, said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to delivering greater customer value.
“We saw the desire in TotalEnergies to find a structured way in which to give value to transport operators. We heard the passionate pleas of mister Egerton Newman for a sustainable and reliable process for his members to get more value for their money on the road. Lasco Financial Services, you know, we’re always seeking innovative ways to deliver greater value to our cardholders…we are proud to announce our solution in partnership with Total Energies that will provide added value and reward customers for their loyalty,” Hall-Tracey noted.

“This will be in the form of a cashback, which should be automatically credited to your card within forty-eight hours maximum. Lasco Gold is bringing this to all of you, whether you have a bank credit card or not, and especially to you who only have a debit card, Lasco Visa prepaid card should be within your wallet so that you can benefit from this, promotion. It’s a hassle-free experience,” she added.
The partnership, which targets transport operators and private motorists is designed to encourage the use of digital payment solutions while encouraging financial sustainability within the sector. Motorists who rely on fuel for daily operations are expected to benefit massively from the cashback programme.

TODSS President Egerton Newman welcomed the move, describing it as a positive step for Jamaica’s public transport community.
“This project highlights the need that public transport, the public transport sector has been struggling with for many decades. The cost of fuel is the greatest challenge in the public transport sector of over 38,000. My request for help from Total for the sector was not met with a grim face, but with a smile,” he said.
“Let me say today that TODSS along with our associate members and member organizations are in a mood of excellence because here is a product that, as I’ve said, is the greatest input in our operation cost each day. Each morning we wake up, we spend $390,000,000 in fuel. Many of the marketing companies said to us, our margin is too low,” he noted.
“The island’s public transport operators will benefit greatly from this partnership. $3 per litre made so small. But let me tell you, when you add it up, one tax man in one year will save seven a minimum of $76,000,” he added.

The LASCO GOLD card, already popular for its convenience and rewards, is now positioned as an essential tool for transport operators seeking to manage expenses more effectively. The partnership also reinforces the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the financial challenges faced by industry stakeholders.
