A little more than a month into the new NBA season, the trade rumour mill is already heating up, and one name keeps getting louder—Zach LaVine.

His move to the Sacramento Kings hasn’t unfolded as hoped, and with the team sitting at a rough 5-16, rival front offices are quietly watching, curious to see how long Sacramento will hold firm. The Kings took a big swing when they landed LaVine in a three-team blockbuster, but that bold bet is now being questioned as the franchise searches for rhythm and direction.

The Golden State Warriors have long been tied to LaVine. Last season, they reportedly held deep talks about bringing him to the Bay before pivoting to acquire Jimmy Butler instead, a move that effectively shut the door on LaVine at the time.

But the NBA never stays still. Big contracts, shifting priorities, and mounting frustration can flip any situation on its head with little warning.

Still, despite fresh noise around the league, the latest word is that Golden State has no plans to jump back into the LaVine sweepstakes. According to reports, the Warriors’ interest faded once Butler became available, and league sources say they see no real reason to revisit those conversations now.
