Leaders Portmore United will travel to the Effortville Community Centre to play Humble Lion in one of five Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League games on Sunday.
The other match-ups are Mount Pleasant taking on Harbour View at Drax Hall; Racing United versus Chapelton Maroons and Cavalier SC play Vere United at Sabina Park; and Montego Bay United versus Dunbeholden FC at Catherine Hall.
On Monday, at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, Molynes United tackle Waterhouse FC before Arnett Gardens take on Tivoli Gardens.
Portmore United, sitting on 16 points and having opened up a four-point lead atop of the standing, will be hoping to extend that advantage when they play a Humble Lion team down in 10th spot on eight points.
The Rudolph Austin-coached Portmore United are bubbling at the moment, winning five of their last six games and with that kind of form, it is not surprising that they have surged to the top of the league and are favourites to beat a Humble Lion team performing badly.
Coached by Donovan Duckie, the Clarendon-based Humble Lion have won just once this season, beating cellar team Molynes United 1-0 and will find Portmore United difficult to break down.
Champions Cavalier are in fifth spot on 12 points but have played two games less than the leader and should have little difficulty dispatching Vere United in ninth spot on eight points. Cavalier are in good form reaching the CONCACAF Caribbean Club final and the likes of Dwayne Atkinson, Kaile Auvray, Jalmaro Calvin, Adrian Reid Jnr and Richard King will be too hot to handle for Vere.
The clash of the promoted teams should be an intriguing one as Racing United in 13th spot on five points take on Chapelton Maroons in 11th spot on eight points. A win for Racing would see them leapfrog Chapelton and take them out of the relegation zone as they have been playing better than their current position suggests.
Second-placed Montego Bay United on 14 should get the better of eighth-placed Dunbeholden on nine points at Catherine Hall.
In the clash of the recent former champions, Mount Pleasant in fourth spot with 12 points and Harbour View in the seventh spot with 10 points should be embroiled in a hard-fought game at Drax Hall. With their expected huge home support, Mount Pleasant should emerge victorious and close in on the leaders.
Monday night football should be buzzing with excitement as fierce rivals Arnett Gardens and Tivoli Gardens meet. Arnett are in sixth spot on 12 points while Tivoli Gardens are 12th with just six points. But despite the points difference, when these teams meet that counts for nothing and another close encounter should be in store.
Third-placed Waterhouse on 14 points should prove too hot for bottom-placed Molynes United on four points and could assume the top spot if leader Portmore United slip up.
