Leslie Hallow appointed chairman of SDF

Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange, has announced Leslie Hallow as the new Chairman of Sports Development Foundation (SDF), replacing Leslie Campbell, who is said to be ill.

Harrow, who hit the airwaves in 2020 when he was appointed Director General of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) in 2020 and resigned in controversy six months later.

He denied being forced out by politicians, explaining that he was actually on a six-month secondment from the Electoral Office of Jamaica and was simply returning to his job.

He then became Executive Director of the Executive Director of the Institute of Jamaica and now will lead a powerful experience team of directors for the next two years.

The Board is as follows:

  • Mr Lenford Salmon – Member

The Sports Development Foundation was formed 31 years ago 1995, as an independent body to contribute to the development of our nation through sports.

It has a mandate to grow sports nationally by funding infrastructure, supporting athletes and associations and developing programs.
